Okay, first thing about Helena is that she can’t stand authority figures, or anyone that tries to tell her what to do. She resents them, and she really, really hates doing what they want. In her mind she is the one who tells herself what to do, not someone else. If they ask nicely she would do it, because she likes the whole ‘asking nicely’ thing. Though when people tell her what to do, she gets angry, and when she gets angry things tend to get broken. And when she doesn’t get her way things tend to get set on fire. Yeah, she’s not one you want to mess with. Good luck.
Even if she absolutely detests you, Helena will want to hug you. She can’t help it, she hugs everyone as a greeting, even if they are across the room and she wasn’t planning on going over there. She just likes hugging people, and she hugs as many people as she can. She used to hug everyone she saw, but now she doesn’t do it as often. Because she doesn’t always feel like it, sometimes she feels like being by herself and then she won’t hug anyone, or let anyone touch her, normally she starts getting like that when she can’t stop thinking about her family, and how it’s only her and her dad left. Though, really it’s one of the smarter things that she’s ever done, not hugging people as much, because some creatures/people really aren’t that nice.
Helena likes to act fearless, even though she really isn’t, but she’s not going to let anyone know that. She likes pretending like she’s not afraid of anything, though she can’t really hide the fact that she can’t stand the sight of blood, because every time she sees it she either pukes, feints, or runs away, sometimes it’s even a combination of them both. That fear really isn’t very easy to hide, but she has another fear that she never lets anyone know. She’s afraid that if anyone finds out that she’ll be in the games next. She’s terrified of dying, because all of her siblings have died in the games and her mother is dead. It’s only her and her dad left, and she loses it when she starts to think about the fact that she might never be able to see him again. And sometimes, when she’s alone, she starts to unravel because she has time to think, and when she thinks, she remembers growing up with her siblings and how much they meant to her, and then she realizes she’s all alone, they aren’t here with her anymore. But when people are around, she tries to forget about that completely, and she puts on a happy face. Or a ‘I hate people telling me what to do’ face.
Helena really doesn’t like seeing anyone get hurt, and if she can do something about it, then she will. She’s always been like that, but since her siblings started dying, she started being protective of everyone. She couldn’t protect them when they got hurt and died, so she decided to try and help everyone else she saw who got hurt, because she didn’t want them to die also. Helena also has a soft spot for animals, she can’t just let an animal get hurt without wanting to help it, and god forbid her see a stray, she’ll want to keep it. She likes animals a little too much, and she doesn’t care what kind they are, she still loves them. Even though she probably scares most of them away by screaming something completely ridiculous that makes no sense at all, like ‘purple mutant ninja bunny monsters are going to take over the world’. Which has happened before.
Fire, oh the lovely thing called fire. It warms you, can cook your food, and be a very dangerous weapon. To Helena though, it’s just fun to play with. For some reason she has a strange sort of obsession with fire, and often accidentally sets things on fire. Occasionally she’ll set something on fire on purpose, but that’s only if she really doesn’t like someone. Normally when she sets things on fire, it’s because she wasn’t paying attention to her lighter or something. Though once she starts the fire, it’s hard for her to stop it, because it traps her sort of, she can’t move when she’s looking at it. It just seems too pretty to take her eyes off of it. Which does get her into trouble a lot.
Warning: Helena likes to say very random things that make absolutely no sense; normally she shouts them loud enough for everyone to hear. She doesn't make sense half the time and the majority of her conversations could be over cats going down the rabbit hole. Or how a rainbow is really transportation for aliens and that they are trying to figure out the best way to take over our planet. Though she can't really walk and talk at the same time, or not very well at least, because every time she tries, she ends up tripping over her own feat. She's extremely clumsy, if there is something to be tripped over, she'll end up tripping over it.

personal history;
On an almost moonless night, on November 6th, Helena Alicia Rush was born shortly to Elvira and Jasper Rush. Helena was the seventh child born to them, and the last. The eldest child was Ignatius Morrissey Rush, who was 9, after him was her oldest sister, Phoebe Cressida Rush, who was 7. Then came Valentina Mika Rush (6), Thaddeus Apollo Rush (4), Pythia Thyme Rush (3), and _______ _______ Rush (2). Her parents already had their hands full with all her other siblings, and they really hadn’t expected to have another kid when they found out that they were going to have Helena. Now with 9 people in their house, things were getting even more cramped, and it was very easy to forget about a kid or two every now and then.
They only had four bedrooms in their house for the 9 of them. Phoebe and Valentina shared a room, Pythia and Helena shared a room, and Ignatius, Thaddeus, and _______ shared a room. Helena didn’t mind having to share a room, she liked it actually. She would less likely be forgotten this way. From a young age she noticed that her parents easily forgot about a kid or two when they were all suppose to leave the house, and from the first time it happened to her, she decided that she would never let it happen again. She wouldn’t be the one left behind, because she would do whatever it was that she could to make it so everyone knew that she was there. No matter what she had to do.
Her and her siblings had a knack for getting into trouble, so it was no wonder to her parents when Ignatius was kicked out of school his freshman year. What did surprise them was the alternative school that they were told that they should send him too. Forevermore Academy. They had never heard of it before, but when they went to drop him off, they were even more surprised at all the creatures that they saw. Species that they never believed existed. Helena rally was too young to understand it, but she loved seeing the fairy wings, and started crying when her parents told her that they had to leave. She probably just should have been glad that they hadn’t forgotten anyone when they were leaving. Her parents loved the idea of all the different species, but they were also a writer and an artist, and loved the fantasy world.
It was just the beginning Kindergarten for Helena, when she learned that her 16 year old brother, Ignatius, had died while he was away at school. Helena didn’t really understand it at the time, but she saw that everyone was really sad, though it didn’t really hit her that she would never be able to see him again until winter break, when he never came home. Phoebe had also started going to school there, and she came back for winter break. Her parents tried to make her stay and start going to public school again, but she didn’t want to leave her friends. She had never really liked public school anyway. Helena was still trying to figure out what this whole thing meant.
It was obvious to her parents that they would have to be sending Helena to Forevermore when she got old enough, because she wouldn’t have anywhere else to go. The teachers were always calling home and saying something bad about the girl. She would throw chairs out of school windows, refuse to do work, set things on fire, and cuss out the teachers. Helena was almost always in detention, every single year, and even suspended a few times. People were always being mean to her, and she couldn’t help but fight back, and some teachers were just ignorant and always bossing her around. She also tended to be a bit more destructive after a sibling died. And they seemed to always be dying.
When she was 8, her sister Valentina died. Again, it was at that school. Her parents hadn’t wanted Valentina to go, but she had fought with them for hours about it, because she wanted to stay with Phoebe, and that’s where Phoebe went. When Helena was 10, her mother was hit by a drunk driver, and killed. Then, when she was 11, Phoebe died also. Now, Helena was starting to wonder how/why the hell they kept dying, and she also started the hate the number 3, because it seemed that they were all dying 3 years apart. By now, her parents were dead set against anyone else going to that school. But the kids didn’t have the same ideas. No other school would allow them to come, and the ones that actually did, they had absolutely no money for. The only thing left was Forevermore, for all of the kids. The year after Phoebe died, Pythia died, again in the school. And the year after that, Thaddeus died.
Back at home things were pretty gloomy. People kept leaving, and then never coming back. The house was pretty quite most of the time. Sometimes, the only sound would be of Helena practicing bass into all hours of the night and day. Helena tried not to set things on fire or ruin anything in the house, because she loved her dad, and she didn’t want to put him through anything else. He had lost enough people as it was. But sometimes she couldn’t always help herself, she always tended to get a bit violent when she got angry.
When it was time for Helena to go to high school, she had just gotten expelled from that school district. And all the ones close by. And no other school would take her in, at least none that they could afford. So her dad had no choice but to send his last little girl to Forevermore. Helena had mixed feelings about going, her siblings kept dying here, even though one was still alive and going here, but her family didn’t seem to last long in this place. But when she got here, she loved it. At least all the different species, because they were all so interesting, and the fact that she finally figured out how and why her siblings kept dying. She managed to stay away from the games, but last year her brother wasn’t so lucky. She figured it out when she hadn’t seen him for three days, and she pretty much lost hope that he would survive, but when she heard that he had died, she hated it. She couldn’t stop thinking that she was going to die also, why would she be able to survive when none of her other siblings had.
