A gentle chill loomed within the ever darkening atmosphere that surrounded Leaf. Despite the fact the sun's rays where disappearing ever so quickly behind the vast trees that seemed to just appear due to their own will at times, shadows blossoming through out the thick branches and multiple scatters of leaves that seemed to over run the numerous trees that had decided to sprout over toward the north west all those years - or even months ago. Despite the quiet rustling of the multiple leaves and the grass in which had just recently been trapped within that small chilled breeze than constantly traveled along the area, everything else seemed to be desolated, even dead like to the young girl who stood at the foot of the pathway, hands buried within the pockets that belonged to a simple pair of shorts - a violent shade of purple in color. The only guard toward the iced chill that clinged to her frail form was the midnight clad cardigan that swarmed around her form like a blanket that wouldn't loosen. Yet, the plain white shirt underneath only proved to be less than an ounce against the progressing cold.
Ignoring it, she slowly forced herself to walk forward, brunette curls gently brushing around her face as they seemed to hover at a more gently phase within the capturing trance of the wind. If someone where to listen carefully, it was as though it was speaking - whispering. Tones unheard from beings unseen, Leaf had always noted the winds breath taking musical aura in such terms. Often it would scream, proving that pain was a more felt emotion than love...joy...
A gentle sigh escaped from Leaf's plump pale lips, her footfall not once making any noise as she progressed along the foot path that seemed to wind on forever in front of her. Yet, despite the gloom and the whistling of the wind, her hearing managed to successfully pick up on another noise echoing out. She rose an arched brow and stopped in her movement, just listening out. A confused expression formed along her porcelain facial features, her head tilting in the lightest. A creaking noise?
Just being curious to what on earth it was, Leaf picked up her pace as she no longer look like she was simply lingering around the area. Her body forcefully followed in the direction to which the noise seemed to produce from, her eyes squinting in concentration as she continued. Palms remaining within the warm depths of her short pockets, the brunette continued forward for a good moment of time, just wishing to find out what on earth was making such a noise. Yet, the small phrase curiosity killed the cat seemed to penetrate her thoughts, her heart leaping faintly. Leaf was always curious, and it often lead to no future problems. Of course, there was the odd time within her life that she'd regret going for her usual snoop - it ending in nothing more than a mere accident or unnecessary finding...
Yet, with the so called progressing dangers that had been revealed recently, she knew only to well she had to keep her guard up. Then again, she knew this would indeed be a task that she'd find difficult to complete to the standard that would probably keep her in one piece. It was in a track of thought such as this that she cursed toward her personality, inwardly. Cursing at her timid aura...friendly expression...it hasn't something she could just grow out of. It was her! These where the smallest features that made Leaf her unique self, even if they weren't considered as the greatest of things. Truly, it only depended on a person's personal opinion if to be completely honest in that situation.
Loosing track of herself as she subconsciously continued to walk at an ever slowing pace, she soon found herself becoming distracted as the creaking noise reached a pitch so loud that she was sure she could possibly be standing over it. Yet, as she looked around, her eyes landed on a small area that startled her - yet brought some sort of relief. In front of the petite girls gaze was what she'd usually call a small park....yet, despite most parks appearing to be overly happy and bright, this one seemed to be desolate and deranged, as though the warmth had been sucked dry from its personal atmosphere. Such a feeling didn't' seem to distract Leaf as she placed her foot into the rain soaked earth, the mud and stray strands of grass clinging to her shoes as she made her away along the grassed path, gaze directly set upon the small swing set that was set on the outer side of the abandoned park.
It only took a few moments, but she soon found herself standing in front of the set of four swing sets, each looking as unstable as the other. Yet, the creaking continued at a loud alert, until Leaf removed her hand from her pocket, placing it around the iced metallic chain in which allowed one of the swings movement. Despite the noise continuing, it seemed to instantly calm down to a lower volume as this one swing was prevented from blowing in a dislodged melody with the wind.
Slowly, a gentle smile formed as she slowly began to test the swing, just wishing to sit upon it. Yet, after messing with it, she managed to find no sever fault that would lead to her being foolishly thrown along the soggy field of grass that surrounded her and the park at this very moment. So, taking a small glance around, Leaf sat herself down upon it, just swinging ever so gently. Her feet never left the safety of the ground as she just swung in a small and slow pattern, toes brushing the ground as she stared down in thought, content.
Just her alone in the darkening area, her mind strangely growing to a more relaxed state as she breathed out loud, head soon leaning back along with her body. Using her tight grip upon the metallic chains to prevent her from falling, Leaf continued to lean back until her brunette curls where almost brushing along the dampened grass, eyes staring ahead into the darkening roads. "Hm?" She blinked, startled. Unsure, but remaining silent, something walked past. Although, this surely was apart of her imagination, or the nights shadows beginning their midnight tricks early...
Right?
