darcy has always been explained as weird - always. she doesn't mind though, choosing to stand out, rather than to be one of the crowd; the sole reason she dyed her hair bright pink when she was in her last school, but then changed it back to nearer her natural colour. she's always been individual, too, choosing her own kind of music and sticking to it; hating other music that people love; the mainstream. her clothes are different; everything about her is different. she loves it. everything to do with different is... just exactly what darcy is.
darcy has never been a person to be shy - she's never been able to sit still, either, and she refuses to calm down about anything. she likes to be hyper and up-beat, believing herself to be a contrast to everyone and everything around her; so it's extremely rare for darcy to openly upset about something, unbelievably worrying, even. she always keeps sure that only her best friends know about something that's wrong, as she hates to tell others about her troubles, in case they think she moans all the time and complains; when she never ever does. darcy isn't an open book for everyone to read - only her true friends can.
darcy isn't someone who is easily bored; she entertains herself by reading, singing or listening to her blaring music - she has always liked to occupy herself, choosing not to delve into the stand-still world of being a vampire and having no real family. besides, her adopted vampire mother has always been adamant that she had to occupy herself, instead of trying to find a human to bite. and that's what she's done.
likes; singing, drawing, understanding people, new friends, new places, tokio, new york, america, politics, love, guys, laughing, having fun, sleepovers, make-up, magazines, cuddly toys, pink, dying her hair, being different, having piercings, listening to music.
dislikes; hating people, pregnant doges, back stabbers, black and white movies, going to the cinema, hollywood, swearing, anorexia, depression, hate, tattoos, needles, fainting, sickness, disease, self centred people, dogs, insects, being scared of things, horror movies, romance books, writing, being bored, forests, energy drinks, eating too much, drugs, alcohol.
fears; is sometimes scared of the dark, which she admits as being ironic, but darcy doesn't care. she's also scared of dying again, as well as drinking from a human.
habits; biting her nails, smoking even though she hates drugs and she smiles a lot.
flaws; darcy refuses to show people what she's really like. she is violent towards others if darcy is frustrated, as she doesn't know how to channel her anger out at something, not someone. darcy also has an extremely short temper, making her even more violent than she could be.

personal history;
darcy was born into the poverty and hard-living of the north east of england on the tenth of august, 1901, brought to the world by jeremy and tabitha. she was a child of an older couple, who at twenty-three for their first birth brought great shame on the family. everyone expected everyone to bring youth into the world once they were married, with a good husband and fully ready for pregnancy; this usually meant the mother was fourteen upwards. when darcy was three, her little sister, kitty was brought into the world and darcy loved her more than anything - her sister was a beautiful baby; with the thin wisps of blonde hair beginning to develop and her bright green eyes; immeadiately, kitty was the 'darling' of the family. soon enough, her little brother, franky was born when kitty was four and darcy was seven. and her parents refused to have any more children. apparently, tabitha was ill with a disease and they didn't want to harm any of the unborn children if tabitha was pregnant once more.
of course, tabitha was lying. she didn't want anymore children - all she saw all day and every day was women on the street with ten to twenty children; their small mouths starving. so she said no and that was it. no more children.
money was hard to come by, but it was enough so the children could have two decent meals a day and could go to school if they wanted. technically, they were a street mother's dream. their clothes were made by hand, but tabitha was known for her embroidery skills and good use of fabics and the girls learned how to sew their own dresses and fix little franky's shorts and skirts. soon, darcy was almost as quick and talented as her mother - clearly she had something for it.
so she got a job sewing. it was hard for little eight year old darcy, but she coped with it and seeing her little brother and sister smiling as she came home was the best bit of the job - darcy could now buy them sweets and treats that they hadn't been allowed before, and because darcy was so good at her job, the family even got another meal a day. darcy was the pride of the family.
but their luck didn't last long. after just four years of living, franky died of a mystery disease and soon, people avoided the andrew family so their young wouldn't get the disease as people were so superspicious of illnesses. jeremy lost his job in factory work and the family was relying on tabitha selling her sewing skills and little eleven year old darcy's job in the sewing mill.
years continued like this, until, at seventeen, darcy was late home one night and she was bitten by a vampire. clearly, she didn't know what it was at first, but as she died, the vampire stayed around and explained to her what was happening. darcy has been with that vampire ever since - her adopted mother, claudia.
claudia soon invited darcy to stay in her house and explained everything about vampires - how darcy should not kill any of the humans outside, as claudia had only wanted another vampire to live with, and everything developed from there. darcy was happy with claudia and soon forgot her family.
two years later, darcy was out on an animal hunt with claudia when she heard a piercing voice enter her ears; she recongised the voice and soon found the human. one look at the small, female body and darcy smiled; it was kitty. she ran up and talked to kitty, who was clearly spooked by the ordeal of seeing her sister who was supposed to be dead, and soon, before darcy knew it, she had bitten kitty; who was now going to be a vampire. part of darcy liked the idea, but the other part was freaking out. what would happen? would kitty hate darcy for killing her? would kitty run away? kitty did no such thing and decided to stay with darcy and claudia, a relef to darcy.
hundreds of years past and as soon as the great mining fight of the 1980's broke out, claudia, darcy and kitty decided that they'd had enough of living in england and they moved to america.
twenty years later, kitty and darcy left claudia at newcastle, hoping to start afresh with new people, new faces, new names, and new hopes pretending to be in high school and choosing to go to forevermore academy.

ash coughed once on the board, thinking of something, anything, to do on the board. she wasn't so good with the tricks; she knew that perfectly. she knew that she wasn't a damn good skateboarder, either. but there were people watching her now. it was like they'd never even seen a scene kid on a board before. she wanted to scream at them and tell them they were being stupid and to look somewhere else; but she couldn't. her nerves had gotten to her. sighing, she pushed her foot along the floor, trying to push herself along on the board. eventually, she had done it; making sure that she was stead on the board, she did it again. faster this time. much, much more faster. she couldn't been seen as a little baby here, some of her friends hung out here and it would be bad for them, and ehrself, if she showed everyone in the skate park she couldn't skate. instead of pulling away from the massive ramp she was gaining speed to, she pushed faster and faster, making herself go to the top of the ramp and she quickly turned, making sure she was perfectly on the board. after all, being a werewolf had to count for something, right?
as soon as she got back to where she had started, there was a grin etched on to ash's face. she had done it! she couldn't believe how great she felt. and how cheesy her grin was, too. she mounted the board, putting one foot on the floor and making sure she was safe. it was then that she felt arms snake around her waits, her instinct was to hit out. but she didn't for some reason; she had felt something in her gut telling her not to. and when she turned around, it had been for a good reason; shane was hugging her. afterall, his huge shout of ''ashleyyyyyyyy!" had been unheard by ash herself. she felt like shying away from shane; but she couldn't. he was so funny and a really, really good friend. so she hugged him back. grinning as she did so, trying to act normal and un-werewolf like. she had liked shane before she loved tom. but she couldn't scold herself right there and then. shane had always had a peice of her heart, even if she was so much of a damned prude when it came to things like that.
"hey shane!" she made a funny face and grinned afterwards. she ahd to admit, even if she didn't like shane anymore, she had missed him a hell of a lot. "so what the hell brings you here, man? i haven't seen you for ages! i totally didn't miss you,2 ash giggled and shook her head quickly, in case shane believed her. not that she ever thought he would, but stil... "only kidding, shane. seriously, even if you did believe my brilliant acting skills, i missed you. you're like... an amazing friend. but i need to tell you something." she grin escaped ash's lips. she couldn't do this, could she? of course she could. she had to, no jokes, no kidding around, she reminded herself. this was damn deady serious. and she was going to stick to it. scouts honour or whatever they fucking said. she didn't really care about that, just about telling shane. afterall, she had guessed he might have understood she liked him. and the fact that she was going to tell him that she loved a vampire probably wasn't about to go down well; would it? of course not. nuts, she thought to herself.
