just talk yourself up A N D T E A R Y O U R S E L F D O W N - - - - - - - - - - - - Morning was definitely not Helena’s favorite part of the day. Honestly, she couldn’t stand mornings. Sometimes she could deal with them, but on others, she just wanted them to be over as soon as she woke up. Today was one of the days when she just wanted them to be over, almost as soon as she opened her eyes. Looking over at her bass guitar she groaned, normally she would practice as soon as she had awaken, but she just didn’t feel like it today, but not feeling like playing bass was completely un-Helena like, and she was perfectly aware of that. She knew what would make her wake up, and get her thinking straight, but she had to actually get up off of her bed to go get it. Coffee.
Pushing herself out of her bed, Helena took a glance around her room. Her eyes fell upon her pair of slip on vans, which she slid her feet into as fast as she could (which was incredibly slower than usual do to the fact that she had just woken up). She didn’t bother changing before she turned to leave her room, and she only stopped for a few seconds to pick up her cell phone, iPod, lighter, and pack of cigarettes, which just happened to all be in a pile waiting for her. Sliding them into the pockets of her pajamas she exited her room, and made her way down to the cafeteria, only tripping over her feet twice along the way. Helena didn’t stay in the cafeteria for very long though, she took one looked around and noticed that if she wanted coffee she would actually have to make it herself because the pot was empty, and honestly, she didn’t want to do anything right now, let alone make her own pot of coffee.
Helena didn’t bother saying a word to anyone, or even acknowledge that anyone was there. She just turned around, and walked out of the cafeteria, finding her way to the front doors of the school. She didn’t really care that she was about to walk outside in her pajamas, she just wanted coffee. Though her pajamas weren’t that horrible, they were actually much better than her normal choices, it was only some black and white stripped pajama pants and a black tank top. Not the embarrassing, but still noticeably pajamas.
Her feet already knew the way there, she didn’t even have to look up from the pavement before she found herself inside of the coffee shop. Lifting her head up, a small smile crossed her face. She loved the smell of coffee in the morning, and she liked the coffee here better than the stuff made in the cafeteria anyway. So maybe it was a good thing that the coffee pot had been empty. Completely forgetting about how much she dislikes morning, Helena walked up to the counter, “One large caramel macchiato.” she said. Helena waited a few minutes before she was handed her coffee, and she handed over the money.
Looking around, Helena noticed that the place was almost completely empty. It didn’t really bother her at all, she was just surprised, it was mid-morning, normally more people were getting coffee around this time. Well, at least it meant that more booths were empty. Letting her eyes scan the room, they landed on a booth in the corner away from everything else. It looked good enough to her. Taking a sip of her coffee she headed over to it, being extra careful not to spill her coffee or trip. She didn’t want any of her coffee going to waste, wasting coffee was not a good idea in her book. She was actually surprised at herself when she reached the table, she hadn’t spilled anything or tripped, which was very rare for her. Not that she minded at all, she liked it very much actually. Taking a seat at the empty booth, she thought she heard the door open, but she wasn’t sure, it could have been her overactive imagination. Shrugging, she took a rather large gulp of the caramel macchiato.

Mark rolled out of his bed to try and find his alarm clock and throw it out the window of his dorm. He hated his alarm clock but he knew that if he didn't have it going off every morning there is no way he would get up at a reasonable hour. After he found his alarm clock and shut if off there was no way he could go back to sleep. He stumbled through his room into his bathroom and checked to make sure his hair wasn't a complete mess. It'll be fine he thought as he smoothed some stray hairs down with his hand. He really didn't care about his appearance when he just woke up, he just didn't want to look like a piece of crap. A cup of coffee would be fantastic right now he decided, stepping away from the mirror. He looked around his room for decent shirt and a pair of sweatpants before quickly throwing them on and heading out the door.
He walked through the halls not even going to stop at the cafeteria for coffee. He hated bargain brand coffee that just sat there for who knows how long. When he wanted his coffee fix he went to a place where they used good beans and the coffee is fresh. Which is sure as hell isn't a high school cafeteria, even if it's a high school full of supernatural creatures he thought, walking out of the front door. He had initially been worried that someone would try to stop him and talk to him and enjoyed that he made it out undisturbed. I guess I've instilled enough fear in them so they know when to leave me alone he thought with a grin. He took in a breath of fresh air as he began to head towards the local coffee shop. He knew that it was more of a student hang-out but he really didn't care because they had good coffee.
He walked into the coffee shop and was greeted with the aroma of fresh coffee of various flavors. He walked up to the counter and took a quick glance at the menu before discarding all of it and ordering "Black coffee" He took the warm cup and went over to find a booth and sat down in the cleanest and closest one. He hung his head over his cup of coffee and just took a sniff of it, running his hand through his hair. He took a sip and looked up, thinking he noticed the student in a nearby booth. He groaned when he realized he knew who it was and tried to decide his next reaction. "Rush" he said, loud enough for her to hear "Get over here, now" He couldn't just ignore that she had been blatantly skipping detention for awhile now, especially if a human is skipping. Ugh he thought Their kind is always so arrogant and thinks their invincible, you would think being surrounded by better beings would change that mindset.

just talk yourself up A N D T E A R Y O U R S E L F D O W N - - - - - - - - - - - - Helena was normally completely oblivious to everything, and today was no different. Yeah she had thought that she had heard the door open before, but she had quickly dismissed that, so she was unaware of someone else being in the coffee shop. Though she normally wasn’t exactly very aware of her surroundings, she was not the most observant person in the world. Actually, her entire family wasn’t very good at being observant all the time, which was probably one of the reasons most of them were dead.
She didn’t realize that someone had walked through the door since she had arrived until she heard a voice. A voice that just happened to be yelling her last name, it sounded vaguely familiar but she couldn’t place it. Crap, that couldn’t be good. Normally when people used her last name they were teachers, and normally teachers didn’t exactly like her. Looking up from her coffee, she spotted where the voice had come from. Yep, that would be why the voice sounded familiar, but she wasn’t able to place it. Professor Reed. She did like skipping his detentions, well, she just liked skipping detention or skipping to detention. He wasn’t exactly her favorite professor that was for sure. But she wasn’t a big fan of anything that dealt with detention.
Helena groaned slightly, taking another sip of her coffee. She didn’t want to have to deal with teachers right now; she didn’t really like any of them in the first place. They all tended to just be annoying and she could never figure out why they all hated her. She never did understand that, but she didn’t understand a lot of things. Helena was exactly the brightest crayon out there.
Hearing him say something else to her, she didn’t look up from her coffee, not this time. Now she had to decide if she should actually listen to him or not. She really didn’t want to go over and sit with him, she was in her pajamas and she would rather a teacher not see her in them, and she knew that he probably didn’t have the best conversation in mind. Helena hated following rules, and people telling her what to do. So she really, really didn’t want to go over to him, but she figured that she probably should. But she wasn’t going to do it very fast.
Shrugging, she took a long gulp of her caramel macchiato and drank it as slow as possible. Setting it back down on the table, she took a few minutes to stretch, before she stood up and dragged her feet over to his booth, coffee in hand. Flashing a smile at him, she slid into the booth, taking a seat across from him. “Well hello to you to, so how are you on this fine morning?” she asked, a fake sweet tone in her voice.
